About David Wagner, Owner and Designer

I grew up in the small seaside town of Far Rockaway, New York. This is where my life-long relationship with the sea began. 

After I graduated from The City University of New York, I pursued a career in Institutional Food Service Management. In 1968 I started my own management company, serving many New York schools, colleges, and government facilities. 

In 1998, I decided to make a career change wIth an emphasis on a community contribution. I used my experience and acquired resources to build a company that would provide affordable assisted-living options to seniors. It was during this time I researched, designed, built, and operated the first fully-dedicated Alzheimer’s care facility in the Uniter States, which is located in Oyster Bay, New York. 

I retired in 2010. I soon realized that retirement did not suit me very well. By chance, I decided to design and make a few pieces of Coastal Marine Wall Decor. 

These designs were extremely well received. The designs are totally unique and aesthetically pleasing. The designs are individually handcrafted, fine all-natural pieces and true conversation decor. Coastal Marine Wall Decor has a workshop and showroom located in East Hampton, New York. and a showroom located in Palm Beach, Florida. 

I try to design my work in a way that is authentic. And at the same time, strive to capture the beauty and diversity of the natural world around us.
